Yachiyo Inoue and Seikin Tomiyama, both certified as Living National Treasure, along with other leading contemporary masters of Buyô (Japanese classical dance), will convey the essence of its 400 year tradition.
Buyô is Japan’s traditional dance that has a history of over 400 years. The unique rhythm of Buyô creates a distinct movementwith a delicate and dynamic balance, fascinating audiences with its refined quality.
Three popular Buyô pieces will be performed: “Wisteria Maiden,” “Battle of Yashima”, and “Father and Son Lion Dance”.”Wisteria Maiden “ is a mysticaldance of the spirit of the wisteria flower with beautiful costumes that highlightthe performance. In contrast, “Father and Son Lion Dance” is a dynamic dance by two dancers dressed as lions. Yachiyo Inoue and Seikin Tomiyama, both certified as Living National Treasure, will deliver an astounding performance in “Battle of Yashima”.
The audience will be treated to different styles of Japanese classical dances performed by top-tier dancers and musicians.
