Special Screening of FOUJITA by Kohei Oguri

Foujita (2015), a French-Japanese film by director Kohei Oguri, will be screened alongside the Foujita exhibition that is part of the Official Program of Japonismes 2018 and which will take place in February 2019 at the Maison de la culture du Japon à Paris. The first Japanese director to have received the Prix Georges Sadoul for his film For Kayoko (1984), Oguri was also awarded the Grand Prix and the International Critics Award at the Cannes Film Festival for The Sting of Death (1990). His latest film, Foujita, released after 10 years of absence, is a French-Japanese production of serene beauty that has never been screened in France. The film depicts a still unknown period in the life of Foujita, a famous artist who was part of the School of Paris and made France his adopted homeland.
