Discovering Japanese Culinary Culture
Organized with assistance from restaurants and wine bars, this event will provide opportunities to taste and enjoy Japanese cuisine, sake and tea in a wide range of Parisian establishments.
1. Sake Stroll in Paris
This tour brings together 24 sake producers from a variety of regions in Japan, and just as many restaurants with different styles, all selected after a call for proposals was made. A special week will be organized during which time chefs and sommeliers from the establishments selected must envision recipes that pair well with sake, to present their unique take on an exclusive “Japonismes 2018 menu”. This project, organized by Ryoko Sekiguchi, a writer and translator living in France, will introduce participants to different ways of enjoying the hidden charms of sake within the context of French culture. This is a preliminary event of the Salon du Saké in Paris.
