from 14 June to 5 July NATSU MATSURI 2018 Centre André-Malraux Exhibition Others Centre André-Malraux This Japanese summer festival includes an exhibition of works by contemporary Japanese artists, as well as a Japanese drum concert, calligraphy, and flower arrangement. There’s fun for everyone, both children and adults, including cultural experience programs. During the event, a special Japanese manga section is being made available to the public at the local municipal library.
from 23 June to 28 October Exposition en deux volets consacrée à la culture japonaise Mairie de Cannes Exhibition Others Musée de la Castre This two-part exhibition held at the Musée de la Castre in Cannes features exhibits related to traditional Japanese culture. The first part displays about 40 traditional items, from the 16th century to the present, including sculpture, basketwork, textiles, ceramics, and glass items. The second part features works by French photographer Charles Fréger, the author of Yokainoshima (2016), including scenes of colorful village festivals.

The venue is a 1,000m2 space in the stylish Le Marais area of central Paris. The event features a wide range of items, from food products to food-related kogei works. The fifth annual show features Japanese tea, vegetables fresh from the farm, and organic products.

Handmade Japanese washi paper is used for the calligraphy. In addition to exhibiting Japanese calligraphy, there are flower arrangement and tea ceremony experiences, a Japanese bamboo flute concert, and a video on how to make handmade washi paper.

The festival provides delightful musical experiences through a rich program including Debussy, Bach, and Messiaen, Toru Takemitsu, and Hokusai-themed pieces, as well as compositions incorporating haiku poetry.

Workshops and lectures feature Bizen-ware techniques and know-how developed over the course of a millennium. from 4 September to 2 December Kohei Nawa, PixCell Deer Musée de la Chasse et de la Nature (Fondation François Sommer) / Villa Kujoyama Exhibition, Fillm / Video screening Paris Musée de la Chasse et de la Nature As part of their on-going collaboration, the Musée de la Chasse et de la Nature and Villa Kujoyama in Kyoto present an exhibition dedicated to Kohei Nawa. The works presented revisit the theme close to the artist who attempts to renew sacred imagery. For his residence in Villa Kujoyama in 2015, Nawa worked with the choreographer Damien Jalet. The video recording this collaboration is presented.

One appealing aspect of this exhibition is the rhythm and harmony of the art with the internal architecture of the museum, the Musée de minéralogie MINES.

It also features artisans' ateliers, demonstrations, and guided tours.

A variety of programs are associated with the exhibition, including opportunities to learn about Japanese koi carp and goldfish, and an aquarium area with fantastic decorations.
from 13 September to 21 September “Chorégraphie calligraphiée” – Exhibition of the calligrapher MAMI Galerie Lehalle Exhibition Paris Galarie Lehalle This exhibition features the works of Mami, a contemporary calligrapher who fuses Japanese calligraphy with the graffiti of hip hop culture. The show includes an installation as well as a calligraphy performance.
